ReefIQ is a reef aquarium ecosystem management application by BayTech Software. It provides local device control, controller dashboards, parameter tracking, and AI-powered reef guidance. By using the app, you agree to use it at your own discretion and to independently validate any operational, livestock, chemistry, or equipment decision before acting on it.

Advisory Use Only

ReefIQ and the ReefIQ Assistant provide general information and convenience features only. They do not replace experienced reef-keeping judgment, manufacturer documentation, local safety checks, or qualified professional advice.

User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your aquarium, livestock, equipment, local network, automation, firmware updates, and any manual or automatic configuration changes you make through the app.

Local Integrations

The app may connect to local devices such as ReefIQ controllers and Neptune APEX systems. Accuracy, freshness, and availability of those local readings depend on the underlying hardware, network conditions, and the data exposed by those systems.

AI Assistant and Third-Party Processing

The ReefIQ Assistant is powered by OpenAI. When you use text or voice conversations, your messages, voice audio, tank profile data, and parameter readings are sent to OpenAI's servers for processing. Voice conversations use OpenAI's Realtime API which processes microphone audio in real time. OpenAI's terms of service and data usage policies apply to this processing.

Assistant responses may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Do not rely on assistant responses as the sole basis for reef chemistry, livestock, or equipment decisions. BayTech Software is not responsible for the accuracy or availability of AI-generated responses.

Accounts and Data

If you sign in, you are responsible for maintaining control of your account credentials. You control what tank information you save and whether you allow the ReefIQ Assistant to use your saved tank data for personalized responses via the data consent toggle in Settings. You may delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time.

Availability

Features may change, be limited, or stop working without notice. Integrations may depend on third-party systems (including OpenAI, Firebase, and Neptune Systems), firmware versions, local device availability, and network access.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, ReefIQ, BayTech Software, and related contributors are not liable for losses, damages, livestock harm, equipment damage, water-quality events, or business interruption arising from use of the app, controller integrations, firmware updates, AI assistant output, or third-party service availability.

Intellectual Property

ReefIQ, its firmware, mobile application, and related assets are the property of BayTech Software. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or create derivative works from the software without permission.

Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated as the product evolves. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
